  • Old Business
    • Dave, KC2EOZ asked about the intermittent noise (interference) that has been heard on the club's 2M repeater, 146.910 MHz. Jim, WA2RJP explained that subsequent to a phone conversation he had the prior week with a unnamed cellular phone engineer, the interference has stopped. He did note that a cell phone transmit frequency of 6 times the input frequency of the repeater was discussed with the engineer during that conversation. A round of applause was given to Jim, WA2RJP for the effort that has gone into his investigation.
    • The on-going intentional repeater interference has not stopped. Lloyd, N2KPC has listened at various times and in various locations to see if any pattern was discernible. So far no significant progress. Brian, WA2FAX suggested a collective effort to "Fox-Hunt" the culprit. Jim, KC2OUT said that here may be more than one offender.
    • The W2DOR, 146.910 MHz, repeater donations, are being solicited by Rocky, N2YQS
    • The W2DOR, 443.350 MHz, repeater has been found to have a final amplifier section problem. Transmissions started out at 5W and then quickly drop to near zero. The repeater has been sent out for repair/replacement of the finals board.
    • Winter Field Day was a success this year. There were five HF stations set up with a monster long wire antenna set up by Dave, KC2EOZ. It must have ran close to 600 feet as per his estimate. There were 16 Boy Scouts in attendance with the appropriate parent supervision. Kudos were given to Lloyd, N2KPC for his help in organizing Winter Field Day.
  • New Business
    • The Hamfest will be scheduled for April 12th at Riverwood. Registration has to be made at ARRL to complete the proper steps. A Hamfest will also be scheduled for August. Details for the August event have not been been finalized.
    • Field Day rules (June 28-29)are now available at any Thursday evening social event at Riverwood or on the ARRL website. Plans to arrive on Friday, the 27th, are in the works. Lloyd, N2KPC said that he will arrange band assignments in a more complete and orderly manner than what was done for Winter Field Day.
    • The chalk board at Riverwood will be used to assign bands and work schedules for the June event. Jim, KC2OUT will review the basic rules and communicate the same to the members in attendance.
    • Paper logs will probably be used with PC logs entered during available down time.
    • Brian, W2Fax suggested two man teams for each radio.
    • Lloyd, N2KPC announced that he will set up a satellite and moon bounce station.
    • Rocky, N2YQS suggested group club pictures and Brian, WA2FAX volunteered his 35mm expertise to take the pictures and order prints through a Target or Wal-Mart store. Jim, KC2OUT confirmed that there is room on the site to place the results on the JSARS website. These would have the proper needed resolution for 8" x 10" prints.
    • Member dues were discussed and the need to advertise the fact that numerous had not paid as of the meeting date. A suggestion to put a "delinquent list" on the JSARS website was discussed.
    • The placement of a Comment Section on the website was discussed.
  • Motion to Close the meeting was made and seconded.
  • Meeting closed, next meeting March 13, 2008.
