JSARS Business Meeting - May 8, 2008

The minutes from the May 8, 2008 JSARS Business Meeting:

  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • Moment of Silence for our troops
  • Roll Call
  • Minutes of April Meeting were read and accepted
  • Treasurer’s Report Noted and accepted. It should be noted that within the Report was mentioned that the April 12th Hamfest netted $1,290 for the club treasury
  • Old Business
    • The W2DOR, 146.910 MHz, repeater donations have reached $300. The actual cost is anticipated to be $125 and the excess to be transferred to the club treasury
  • New Business
    • Toms River Founder's Day will be held June 7th along Washington Street. The club will probably be located at the same booth area as the 2007 event. Volunteers to man the booth are welcome. Hours are tentatively set for 8AM - 2PM
    • Field Day is scheduled for June 28th and 29th. Setup will start on Friday the 27th. Radio activities will begin at noon on the 28th. Evan, KI2Y, will "loosely" coordinate band and antenna placement. Frank, K2IYE, proposed allocation of $150 and incidentals. This was unanimously accepted
    • The Ocean County Fair will be held from July 8th - 13th. The club will be taking over the parking duties this year. Volunteers will be appreciated
    • The JSARS summer Hamfest will be held on August 17th. Jim, KC2OUT, will contact the AARL so that it will be included in their calendar of Hamfests. Please note that this event will be held on a Sunday so as not to have any conflict with Riverwood acivities
    • A generous donation to JSARS by Pete Murphy, KO2S, was made. This included an aluminum tower, HF radio and amplifier, frequency counter, and signal generator. All items are in good to excellent shape. Chris proposed a certificate with the club logo be presented to Pete to recognize his generosity.
    • A motion to accept three applications was made. Joseph Condren. WB2ZRU. Motion by Frank, K2IYE and seconded by Tom, KC2QLB. Mark Juza, KC2TGM. Motion by Jim, WA2RJP and seconded by Jim, KC2ROF. Joe McKenna, N2RAI. Motion by Lloyd, N2KPC and seconded by Jim, KC2ROF. All applications were unanimously accepted
    • A motion to nominate the entire cuurent board for re-election at the June 12th Business meeting was madw and seconded. No other nominations for club positions were made
  • Motion to Close the meeting was made and seconded .
