ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio® reports that early this morning, May 22, 2025, the US House of Representatives passed a massive Reconciliation bill with the below spectrum provisions relevant to Amateur Radio.

Spring Season Section Manager Election Results

ARRL members in Utah have elected Brett Pruitt, K7BDP, of Hurricane, to continue as the ARRL Utah Section Manager, and his new term of office starts on July 1. Pruitt received 275 votes and Bob Craven, N7GTE, received 234 votes. Election ballots were counted on Tuesday, May 20, at ARRL Headquarters.

ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio® honors and remembers the ultimate sacrifice made by those who served in the U.S. armed forces. ARRL Headquarters will be closed Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day.

There will be no W1AW code practice or bulletin transmissions on Memorial Day. ARRL Headquarters will reopen Tuesday, May 27, at 8 AM EDT.

The Solar Geophysical Activity Report and Forecast from the
USAF/NOAA indicates that solar activity has been at low levels for
the past 24 hours.

There are currently four numbered sunspot regions on the solar disk.

Johns Hopkins University to Hold ARRL Teachers Institute

A session of the ARRL Teachers Institute on Wireless Technology (TI) is being hosted this summer by the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, Maryland. This marks the first time a major research university has hosted the ARRL program.

Heritage CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame Inductees Named

The Heritage CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame, created by longtime amateur radio publisher Richard Ross, K2MGA (SK), will continue to honor amateur radio operators on a new section of the Hamgallery.com website.

CQ magazine ceased publication in October 2023. Ross died on April 27, 2024, and the change was made with the permission of his widow, Cathy.
