Meeting Minutes - October 11, 2018

* Meeting came to order at 7:00 PM.
 
* Pledge, moment of silence, and roll call.
 
* Brian WA2FAX read the minutes of the previous September business meeting. Minutes approved by Chris K2HVE and Glenn KD2FFR.
 
* Joe KD2NAY presented the Treasurer's report showing the current club account balance of $_____. Report approved by Dave N2WCO and Charlie N1CRR.
 
* Charlie N1CRR presented the JSARS ARRL Traffic Net summary for September:
     check-ins                      567

     total minutes                 486
     sessions                         30
     participants                   597
 
* It is sad to report that our club member Larry Hilton KC2UHJ became a Silent Key on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Larry was a young 72 years of age. Lorraine, Larry's XYL, has requested JSARS' assistance in disposing of Larry's ham gear. Steve AC2ST will contact Lorraine.
A club motion was approved to make a $____ donation to the American Cancer Society in Larry's name.
 
* Charlie N1CRR advised he still has battery condition indicator kits available for his soldering class. Contact Charlie if interested.
 
* Jim WA2RJP has no further news from the water company on their project of painting the water tower which will require the temporary removal of our 146.91 repeater antenna. In any event, we are prepared with a back-up plan to maintain operation of the repeater.
 
* Tom KD9BVC reminds us about the JSARS participation in the Toms River Makersfest  at the RWJBarnabas Arena on Saturday, October 20th.  Tom will be there bright and early and will need back-up members.
* Tom KD9BVC also reported that the assistance provided by the club members in the recent MS150 Bikeathon was a success.
* A club motion was approved to make a $____ donation to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Society through the assistance of Michelle,  XYL of Ricky KC2VXI.
 
* Glenn KD2FFR reports that the NJ Emergency Communications Team has requested JSARS to post on JSARS' web site their need for radio operator  assistance during the American Breast Cancer Walk in Pt. Pleasant on October 21st.
 
* Tom KD9BVC will begin taking orders for the JSARS winter jackets. We also have many shirts and caps available in stock for immediate sale!
 
* Total meeting attendance was 20.
 
* Meeting adjourned at 7:50 PM, approved by Pete K3PMC and Jerry KD2JGH.
